Volunteering with kids doesn’t have to take up an afternoon or cost a lot of money to have a big impact. One thing I’ve found helpful as we began our service journey, is to tap into your kiddo’s interests and passions. Do they love animals? Head to your local animal shelter to see the fur babies, or make some blankets at home and drop them off! Is your kiddo creative in the kitchen and enjoy cooking? Put together some meal kits! And if your child loves the outdoors, visit a local park for a community/neighborhood cleanup. There’s something for everyone when it comes to volunteering, and kids can really gain a sense of purpose from community service.
